APIRS was founded in Porto Alegre, RS, in July of 1989, aiming at helping teachers grow in their teaching practice.

APIRS sponsors workshops and conferences around the State of Rio Grande do Sul, along with regional representatives interested in holding events that cater to the needs of their EFL teachers.

Our mission statement:

To foster and encourage competence, continuing development and personal growth among teachers of English in the south of Brazil, by means of workshops and other pedagogical activities such as publications and interactional exchanges.
